On était vraiment impressionnés. Le rendu est superbe, le prix est raisonnable : une expérience au-delà de nos attentes ! Je recommande fortement Peinture GR :)

Our restoration process

Five rigorous steps, built to last.

  1. 01

    Stripping

Rust and flaking paint are stripped right back, using grinders, wire brushes, a Dremel rotary tool and scrapers.

  2. 02

    Acetone cleaning

The stripped surface is cleaned thoroughly with acetone to remove residue, dust and contaminants, so the paint bonds as well as it possibly can.

  3. 03

    Site protection

All stripping debris is picked up, then every surrounding surface is covered: brick, windows, entrance and yard.

  4. 04

    Primer coat

A two-part epoxy primer goes on the horizontal surfaces: stair treads, handrails and angle iron, the ones rust attacks first. A regular primer goes on the rest of the stripped metal.

    Final coat of paint

A final coat of industrial paint is applied in the colour of your choice, with a careful finish for a result that looks good and lasts.

About

A local crew that specializes in wrought iron.

Félix and Édouard founded Peinture GR in Montréal with one clear idea: do one thing, and do it better than anyone. Today, about twenty painters, all trained in the same method, show up on time, in uniform, and leave your yard as clean as they found it.

Frequently asked questions

What clients ask
before they
hire us.

Don't see your question?
Call us and we'll answer it directly.

  • We serve Greater Montréal, including Ahuntsic, Villeray, Rosemont, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Verdun, Le Sud-Ouest, Côte-des-Neiges, Outremont, Saint-Léonard, Montréal-Nord and Lachine, as well as the other boroughs of Montréal.

We also serve southern Laval and the surrounding area.

  • It starts with a conversation so we understand your project and what you need. One of our consultants comes out to take measurements, assess the condition of the surfaces and work out what needs doing, all completely free.

Once the assessment is done, we send you a detailed quote by email and text. After you accept it, our project manager sets a date with you.

Our crew then handles every stage, from preparing the surfaces through to the finish and the site cleanup. When the work is done, our crew chief walks the job with you to make sure everything meets your expectations.

  • Yes. When repairs are needed before painting, we carry out the repair work on the wrought iron itself: welding, reinforcement or replacing certain sections.

If the repairs turn out to go beyond what the original quote covered, we tell you before we proceed.

  • Yes. Peinture GR holds RBQ licence #5892-3756-01 and carries two million dollars in civil liability insurance, so you can hire us for your wrought iron painting and repair work with complete peace of mind. Our work also comes with a 2-year warranty.

  • We know the procedures condo associations work with. We provide a detailed quote that can be reviewed at their meetings, and we're happy to speak with several board members to clarify every aspect of the job.

  • We focus on projects of $2,500 and up so we can give each client more time and attention. It lets us support our clients properly, pay close attention to the details and offer a more personal service, from the quote through to the end of the job.

Our aim is quality of service rather than volume of projects.

  • You don't have to be there while we work. We run our own generators, so you don't need to be home to give us access to an outlet.

At the end of the job we do ask you to be present, so our crew chief can walk the work with you and make sure you're 100% happy with the result.
